WOOOO

It was another barn burner, but we pulled it out!! We beat Scottsdale in 5 games 25-22, 20-25, 21-25, 25-22, 15-10. We definately had our moments, but it was a great match for both teams. Now we play Columbus Community College, Ohio, or something like that, at 2:30pm tomorrow for 5th place. Let's hope we end on a win!!

Friday Morning

This is Coach. Just wanted to let you know that the spirit of the girls seems good today! I went to Walmart this morning at 9am and it was 18 degrees!!! Came back and cooked breakfast for the team. They seem happier than they were last night, so this is a good thing. They are ready to get back out on the court this afternoon and prove themselves. Thanks for following us. We will report back with you after the match.

By the way, it is stinking freezing here!! High of 26 degrees with flurries!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First day of play

At 11am this morning we played Community College of Rhode Island. Do you want to know how we did? Well, we beat them in 3 games. Scores were 25-12, 25-11, 25-14. The team played well, we actually let them come back in two of the games. We had the best serving game ever! 15 aces! It was definately a good warmup game. Afterwards we came back to the resort and ate lunch in the coaches condo. Majority of the girls just took it easy and napped. The coaches went back to the gym to enjoy volleyball.
The team made their way back to the gym at 3:30 to prepare for the next opponent. During warmup we had to take a time out to participate in the opening ceremonies. A big thank you to the Cowley track team for lending us the flags, we looked like we were in the olympics!! Others were jealous.
Our next opponent was IllinoisCentral. Unforutanely luck wasn't on our side. We lost the match in 5 games. Scores were 19-25, 25-20, 24-26, 25-23, 15-8. They were a great team and we didn't manage to string together all the good stuff at once. Not to worry we still can finish as high as 5th place. Tomorrow is a new day and we play Scottdale at 2:30pm! Wish us luck. Go Tigers!!! Thanks for being fans.

The Day Before (Wednesday)

Well the day began around 8am in the coaches condo. They had breakfast and yes, some things got burned. Don't worry everyone is fine. We left for the Dells Center for practice, aka the bubble, around 9:30am. We practiced from 10-11:15, and the team seemed focused and ready for competition. Afterwards it was back to the resort for a nap and lunch. The bubble is only about a mile from the resort so it is very convenient to travel to and from. For lunch we ate in the coaches condo once again. No stove involved, so things were looking up. After lunch Coach Jo went for her 50 minute massage that the team surprised her with the night before. She doesn't get emotional often, but there were some teary eyes. After the massage Jo, Brylee, Luci, Elizabeth, and Helen went to town to hit the Outlet Mall and Walmart for the second time of the trip. Then back to get gussied up for the banquet. The team looked very beautiful and took approximately 1 million pictures. The dinner was very nice and the speaker was inspirational. Good way to start the tourney. It is now off to bed before the first day of play! We play Community College of Rhode Island at 11am. We will post the results as soon as we can. Wish us luck! Ta Ta for now. Go Tigers!
